Bolatti Barbers Shop

Client: Bolatti Barbers Shop
Location: London | UK
Project Type: Brand Design  Digital Transformation  Interior Design  Selected
Contractor: N/A
Bolatti barbers shop was a concept from the founders of a famous speakeasy bar in London called The Bootlegger. Our brief was to create a 1920’s inspired prohibition bar located below Bolatti barbers shop in an undisclosed location in London.

Measuring Success.

For every project we’re appointed on, we believe it’s important for us to understand how design and business align. In doing so we are able to measure the impact of our efforts. For Bolatti we worked with the founders to develop a new brand and interior concept which required the following services.

Brand Strategy | Brand Workshops | Brand Design | Digital Transformation | Bar Interior Design

Bolatti Barbers Shop

London’s Best Kept Secret!

As projects go this one was challenging, the site was extremely small, it was below ground level which presented new issues for our design team and we had an extremely tight budget. We worked closely with the co-founders to support them through each step of the creative process. Like most GC projects the brand always has to come first and that’s where we got to work.

We held a number of brand workshops which really enabled us to understand the challenges faced with the current brand ‘The Bootlegger’. The brand workshops were really crucial in order for us to shape the identity and vision of Bolatti but it also provided a great opportunity for us to shape a totally new brand concept.

As the brand work progressed and we had agreed on the new brand name, the look and feel and the core communication for Bolatti we started to work on the Interior concept.

The first challenge we faced was access. The site was located below an existing barbers shop and down a flight of stairs. The vision of this concept was speakeasy so we wanted the location to be as secret as possible but not gimmicky. Our favourite concept that we all agreed on was that we would manufacture a door to look like a cupboard with all the implements for the barbers shop sat on the shelves.

As you approached the stairs what seemingly would feel like a dead end opened up to this incredible basement bar, that really is a secret! (The barbers shop isn’t a facade either, it really is a working barbers shop!) As we came up with the interior concept for this project we were constantly working to understand how we could communicate the brand and it’s narrative through this classy and elegant interior concept.

Passionate about brand experience & design Grey Coffee combines the expertise of a Brand Consultancy & a Commercial Interior Design Agency

Established in 2010 Grey Coffee set out to design brands and shape digital experiences that would impact business growth and brand loyalty. Since then Grey Coffee has evolved, we have a wealth of understanding and experience that enables us to create successful brands that are able to sustain long term growth.

We have developed our own unique brand strategy workshops, provided brand consultancy for a number of very successful brands (see our client list above) and continue to evolve our brand expertise and services when it comes to brand storytelling, brand communication and brand design.

Over the years it became clear to us that businesses struggle to consistently communicate their brand across every customer touchpoint. When the opportunity arose for us to be involved with a complete brand transformation which included the interior design of a commercial space it made us stop and totally rethink and re-imagine the future of Grey Coffee.

The project made us review the impact of brand design and Commercial Interior Design on the overall customer experience. It became really clear to us that the two are intrinsically connected.

Fast forward to today Grey Coffee is widely recognised as a hospitality agency that has successfully delivered a wide range of projects including; bar interior design, cafe interior design, coffee shop interior design, restaurant interior design and restaurant branding.
